Walnut and cherry, laid up in a herringbone that points straight ahead and doesn't apologize for it, framed clean on all four sides. No rush job — just time, sawdust, and a steady hand.
This board's only ever seen one kitchen: mine. Built by one guy, in one shop, out here in Grande Prairie, Alberta. No factory line, no assembly crew, no fuss about it.
Good for serving. Good for showing off. Good enough you might just leave it out on the counter instead of putting it away — most folks do.
Care: hand wash, dry standing up, give it some oil now and then. Treat it right and it'll outlast whatever excuse you used to buy it.
